Fathers Matter: Leadership Lessons I’ve Learned From My Father

Fathers Matter: Lessons learned from my Father is a timely crafted instructional manual, filled with stories that every person can resonate with. The impact that Jesse’s father has made on his children’s lives, directly or indirectly, is immeasurable. From understanding the importance of identity, being a gentleman, what it means to have a work ethic, to the actualization that life doesn’t go on forever. This book walks every person through leadership lessons that are valuable to their success in life.

In 2016, my father went through radiation treatment for his colon cancer. A few weeks into treatment, I asked my father what does he want his legacy to be. As we started talking, I realized that he just wanted some simple life lessons to be passed on from generation to generation. I didn’t have my father consistently in my life growing up, but when my mother died, I was eleven years old, and he stepped up to the plate and took care of me. We’ve had a ton of ups and downs in our relationship, but through all of that, he is one of the best men I know. The lessons that he has taught me about life, money, friendships, marriage, parenthood, entrepreneurship, faith, and community, are way too much to put in a book. But I tried to do it anyway. This is my attempt to not only pass on those lessons, but to share his legacy with the world.
